Works great nice for helping elderly parent with speech problems to communicate

I need to return this as the volume was too low could not understand

My husband doesn't always understand my live-in elderly relative when they talk. They are using this to help communicate better what it is they need or want to say. I like the custom recordings that were easy to record and can change when wanted. Remember that the mic is at the top of the remote when recording. It would be better if the buttons were raised or more tactile. They are a little difficult to press if someone has less control of their hands. I like that it came with batteries and ready to go. Excellent value for a speaking aid.

Nice large size controller. Seems to be a sturdy plastic, has survived a few spills/tosses so far. Enjoy the recordable buttons at the bottom to make it truly customizable. Some buttons seem to work better then others and I wish it could go a bit louder, that being said, the volume does work great for a Doctor's office visit or riding behind you in the car. Will have to find replacement batteries, I have a feeling they will die at the worse possible time, small watch battery type. All and all a solid piece, and anything that makes your life easier this worth it.

Easy operation with simple interface. Anyone could use this, even the most delayed person could be shown the minimalist buttons and clear voice..PLUS there are 4 buttons for self recording words or statements personalized to YOUR child/adult. My son was born deaf and has his hearing restored. He has a $2000 machine that was for this same reason. It was VERY complicated for a 4 year old. Though not able to converse for a while and months of speech therapy, his computer board was just too much for a young child. THIS would have been perfect for his limited vocabulary at that time. Now diagnosed with autism he has times where his response to a question is a yes or a no I can't hear or understand as he sort of mumbles it. For some reason he thinks he's talking loudly and may answer 5 or 6 times before it's loud enough to hear. It is more valuable to me because now when I need his answer,he can just press a button! It's worth the price to know communication is occurring. Though I'd love to see a case/cover come out for this, it will be durable enough to stand up to daily used. However,it could be repaired if cracked with duct tape. Though Id like to somehow seal it up to avoid cracking it if dropped. The size is about 1/2 Size width of a pencil case or the in length of 1 1½ cell phones around 10 inches
